Angels and Demons is the follow–up to Dan Brown’s epic The Da Vinci Code, at least as far as movies go. In literary history, Angels and Demons takes place and was written before The Da Vinci Code, and while the latter takes on religion in France, the former takes place in Vatican City. Though The Da Vinci Code was still a box–office success despite its many problems (critics were definitely mixed on the film), I believe the film rode on the books gargantuan success. In coming weeks, we will see if its counterpart can do the same.

Do you remember the old X–Files? I mean, when it was really good? FOX’s latest Sci–Fi show Fringe reminds me a lot of that show I used to watch way back when, where creepy unknowns had infiltrated the earth and went bump in the night.

State of Play is a really solid conspiracy thriller that reminds me a lot of the movies from the 90’s like The Pelican Brief, The Firm, etc. It’s entertaining throughout with a great cast of actors (minus Ben Affleck), and manages to pull the viewer through a series of twists and turns to a satisfying end.

Heath Ledger gives a phenomenal performance as the Joker in this epic film by Christopher Nolan. Becoming the second highest grossing box–office film of all time, The Dark Knight achieved the feat of bringing the superhero genre to a wider audience while showing that comics and graphic novels could be presented in a legitimate, serious, and compelling manner. The first motion picture to film sequences with IMAX, the final result is nothing short of stunning.
